Pleasant, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Carnahan, Jr., are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Thursday, May 31, 2001, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel, Wednesday evening, from 6 until 8 o'clock. Mr. Carnahan was born in Lincoln, Ill., a son of Vern and Maude Thomas Carnahan. He attended the University of Illinois and graduated from Washington State University where he excelled in football. He was a life member of the Elks Club in Kodiak, Alaska, a member of the VFW Post 10624, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and the Charleston Rifle Club. He was an Agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Carnahan was a member of East Cooper Baptist Church. He was the loving husband of Gertrude "Trudy" Browning Carnahan of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., the loving father of one son, Q.D. Fulmer of Charleston, S.C., and one daughter, Salette Fulmer of Bluffton, S.C., and loving grandfather of two granddaughters, Kelsey Browning Fulmer of Charleston, S.C., and Iris Rebecca Isabelle Stapen of Bluffton, S.C.
