Canty, formerly of 32 Warren St. She is the wife of the late Mr. Eugene
Canty, Sr.; beloved mother of Mrs. Sylvia Gladden and Mr. Eugene Canty,
Jr.; grandmother of Mr. Robert Gladden, Jr. (Elizabeth); great 
grandmother of Robert and William Gladden and Danielle and Jerrod 
Williams. Friends may visit at 1710 Rev. Parrish Williams Dr. (James 
Is.). Funeral arrangements will be announced by DOROTHY'S HOME FOR

CANTY, Marthena The relatives and friends of Mrs. Marthena L. Canty, 
those of her husband, the late Mr. Eugene Canty, Sr.; her daughter and 
son, Mrs. Sylvia Gladden (Robert, deceased) and Mr. Eugene Canty, Jr.;
grandchildren, Mr. Robert Gladden, Jr. (Elizabeth) and Bruce McNeil 
(Allyson); godchild, Mariam McCoy; great-grandchidlren, 
great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law; cousins 
and special friends, Janie L. Richardson, Margaret McNeil and Rose 
Brown are invited to attend her funeral service, 2 p.m., Monday, July 
30, 2001, in Old Bethel UM Church, 222 Calhoun St. Interment the church
cemetery. Friends may visit 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 7 to 8 p.m.
