Duncan Burrell - Seneca - Janie Mae Ward Duncan Burrell, 88, formerly of 204 Duncan Acres, died June 26, 2001 at the Toccoa Nursing Center. Born In Oconee County, she was daughter of the late Raymond James and Maude Or Ward, and was twice widowed, first married to Claude A. Duncan, and later to Evat Burrell. She was a homemaker, a member of the Wolfstake Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Survivors include four sons, Albert Lewis Duncan of Bartow, Georgia, Dennis Alton Duncan of Westminster, Virgil Ray (Pete) Duncan of Seneca, and Kenneth Paul Duncan of Salem; three daughters, Lyrlene Prince of Walhalla, Reba Lawson of Seneca, and Maudlee Harvey of Toccoa, Ga.; a sister Florence Osborne of Powdersville; five step children, Jack Burrell of Seneca, Harold Burrell of Salem, Mrs. Martha Sue Heaton of Salem, Mrs. Carolyn Hood of Walhalla, and Mrs. Patsy Keasler of Sunset; 24 grandchildren; and a number of great and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her two husbands and her parents, Mrs. Burrell was preceded in death by son Leland James Duncan, brothers Roy, Bill, Henry, Ed, and Jack Ward, and sisters Marie James, Pobile Edwards and Velma McDonald. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 28 from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home, conducted by the Reverends Benny Kerr and Jimmy Bogg. Burial followed in the Wolfstake Baptist Church Cemetery.
