Brown, 58, a retired sales consultant with Radio Shack franchise, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at her home in Ladson after a long struggle with cancer. The funeral service will be 3 p.m., Saturday in St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 200 Goose Creek Blvd., Goose Creek. Entombment will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, N. Charleston, this evening (Friday) from 6 until 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at church. A native of Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Cole and Loraine Meetze Zobel. She was a graduate of the Brooklyn-Cayce High School and a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Goose Creek, S.C. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joe Brown, Sr., her sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Denise Brown of Aiken, S.C., Steve and Brandie Brown of Atlanta, Ga., two grandsons, Joey and Dusty Brown of Aiken, S.C., and a granddaughter, Jessi Brown of Atlanta, Ga. A very close cousin, Elaine (Danny) Laffey of Hilton Head also survives. Memorials are requested to the Lutheran Hospice, 753 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464.
