Bowman, died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Hospice House of the Upstate.A native of Colleton County, S.C., she was born January 22, 1914, the daughter of the late Lawrence Boswell Rhodes and the late Ida Jane Hill Rhodes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva and was a retired rural mail carrier. She was a graduate of Ridgeville High School, a charter member of REVIVA, a member of Sunrise Seniors and a member of W.M.U., T.E.L. Sunday School Class. She was also a former G.A. Leader at First Baptist, Iva, and a former president of Jackson Mill Community Club during the 1970's. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.She is survived by, son Rodney Earle Bowman, Spartanburg, S.C.; daughters, Janet Bowman, Columbia, Md., Yvonne McGee, Iva, S.C., Joyce Ryan, Knoxville, Tenn., Laurie Ann Wilson, Anderson, S.C.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church of Iva, Sunday, July 1, 3 p.m. Rev. Jerry Gray, Rev. Paul Pinson, and Mrs. Sonja Sokol will officiate. Burial in Iva City Cemetery, Iva, S.C.The family will receive friends at the McDougald Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, June 30, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. The body will be moved to the church at 2 p.m., Sunday. The family will be at the residence. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Iva First Baptist Church, P.O.
