The Rev. William Abell will officiate. Mrs. Barrow died Friday, May 25, 2001 at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Born in State Line, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Frank Simpson and the late Dennie Ellis Fields. She graduated high school from the Mississippi public schools. She was a seamstress and home care attendant by occupation before retiring. She was a Red Cross volunteer and worked for the board of registration in New York City. She was twice married, first to the late Jack Mavins and second to George Barrow. She was preceded in death by a son, William Simpson Sr. Survivors include her husband of New York City; two granddaughters, Crystal Battle and Jade Buchanan of Eastover; a grandson, Eric Simpson of Eastover; seven grandchildren; and a son, Alfred McDonald of State Line, Miss. A viewing will be held today, May 30, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. from the chapel of Christopher King’s Funeral Home.
