Bancroft, 56 of Moncks Corner died Wednesday, July 18, 2001 in Charleston. Born January 29, 1945 in Sharon, PA to the late Harold Leroy Auchter and Mary Dorothy (Bendroski) Auchter. She was a telephone operator for taxi companies. Mrs. Bancroft was raised a Catholic. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard "Dick" F. Bancroft; children, Patrick A. Morris, North Charleston, Tammie Novak (fiance' Hansel Koester), Moncks Corner, and William "Charlie" Ridgeway Jr. (Heather A.), Moncks Corner; four step-children, Nancy Knight (fiance' Gene Haddock), North Charleston, Debra Blosser, Harrisburg, PA., Gilbert Bancroft (Diane), North Charleston, and Thomas Bancroft (Missy), Goose Creek; brother, Joseph Balzer, Pittsburgh, PA., sister, Lorraine Seville, Clearwater, FL., and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2001 in the chapel of McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 100 S. Goose Creek Blvd., (Hwy.52) Goose Creek. Entombment will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 21, 2001 from 7-9:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
