Ayers, 55, wife of Robert L. Ayers, of Summerville, died Wednesday evening, July 18, 2001, at a North Charleston hospital. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2001, at 1 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, S.C. 29406. She was born August 7, 1945, in Lakewood, N.J., a daughter of the late Joseph W. Dunhour and Thelma Highfield Dunhour. She was a graduate of Wildwood, N.J., schools. She was Episcopalian. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Ayers of Summerville; two daughters, Dawn C. Adams of Ladson, S.C., and Sandra M. Ayers of Columbia, S.C.; one son, Robert L.
