TITLE: Carl Aldrige SOURCE: The Post and Courier, July 5, 2001 SUBMITTED BY: The Post and Courier FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, July 2001 *********************************************************************************************** ALDRIGE, Carl KINSTON, N.C. - Carl Francis Aldridge, 82, of 960 John Green Smith Road, Kinston, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2001. He was a charter member of Deep Run First Baptist Church, where he was a former chairman of the Deacons. Mr. Aldridge was a member of the Scottish York Rite, Lenoir County Shrine Club, Treasurer of the Deep Run Ruritan Club, and past Master and Secretary of Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge 304. He was a Chief Electrician in the Navy for six years and served in World War II. He also was retired from Aldrige Electric. Mr. Aldridge was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Aldrige and Felix Aldrige; two sisters, Ellen Hardison and Florence Hardison; and granddaughter, Leah Kristen Aldridge. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, at HOWARD-CARTER & STROUD FUNERAL HOME with Reverend Bobby Belcher officiating and Reverend Gene Martin assisting. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Iris Ruth Aldrigde of the home; one son, Heber Carl Aldridge of Kinston; two daughters, Jeanne A. White of Charleston, S.C. and Lorelei A. Jones of Wilmington; one brother, Shade Aldridge, Jr., of Kinston; two sisters, Grace A. Hill and Jeanette A. Canady, both of Kinston; eight grandchildren; three great granddaughters and one great grandson. The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, from the funeral home.
