The funeral will be 3 PM Sunday, August 5, 2001 in Sandridge Baptist Church, Sandridge Community. Entombment will be in Dorchester Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Summerville. Mrs. Vaughan was born in Whiteville, NC., a daughter of Wesley "Mac" McGhee and Pearl C. McGhee. She was an elf at Ms. Noah's Ark in Holly Hill and a waitress at Clark's Restaurant in Santee.Survivors include her husband, Tommy Vaughan of Elloree; her parents of Holly Hill, two daughters, Yvonne Smoak of Eutawville and Marie Smith of Holly Hill; two step-daughters, April Lanigan of Neeses and Amy Whetstone of Gaston ; six sisters, Alice Faye Merricks of Danville, VA., Debbie Horne of Kingsland, GA., Marie Grooms of Holly Hill, Teresa Young of Kingsland, GA., Denise Caddell of Beaufort, NC., Eutauqua Grooms of Holly Hill; two brothers, James McGhee of Danville, VA., and Phillip McGhee of Newport News, VA., and six grandchildren. Friends may call at AVINGER FUNERAL HOME, HOLLY HILL, from 6-8 PM., this Saturday evening.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box K, Aiken, SC 29802 or the American Red Cross, 545 Louis St., Orangeburg, SC 29115.
