Stringer, died Wednesday in a North Charleston hospital.Funeral service will be held Monday, August 6, 2001, at 7 o'clock in St. George's Episcopal Church, 9110 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Burial will be private.Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to, Holy Trinity Charismatic Episcopal Church, c/o Father Ed Skiba, 201 Sweet Briar Road, Summerville, S.C. 29485.Born on September 22, 1922, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late John Thomas Stringer, Sr., and Edna Olivia Thompson Stringer.He was a member of the American Legion. He was a United Sates Army Veteran of World War II. After serving in World War II, he attended the University of Maryland, receiving his Ph.D. in Zoology. Dr. Stringer worked in teaching and administration of higher education until 1978, when he was called to the priesthood. He serve din the Anglican Church, the Episcopal Church of the U.S., and the Charismatic Episcopal Church. Before retiring, Rev. Stringer founded Holy Trinity Charismatic Episcopal Church in Summerville.Surviving are, his wife, Margaret O. Stringer of Summerville; two sons, Kenneth Stringer, Jr., of Reston, W.Va., Joseph Stringer of Summerville; one daughter, Meg Batcher of Schenectady, N.Y. ; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, John T. Stringer, Jr., of Bero Beach, Fla.He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Newlove.Arrangements by JAMES A. DYAL FUNERAL HOME, SUMMERVILLE, S.C.
