Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Friday morning, August 3, 2001 at 10:30 o'clock. Committal services will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:30 o'clock. Friends may call at PARKS FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 6-9 pm. Mr. Shaffer was born August 22, 1925 in Oakland, Maryland, a son of the late Lee Benjamin Shaffer and Marie Ridder Shaffer. He was a Navy veteran, serving in both Korea and Vietnam. He was also a Veteran of WWII. He was also a member of the AARP. He is survived by sons, Larry Shaffer of Summerville SC and James Shaffer of Greenbelt, Maryland, 1 daughter, Susan Conley of Summerville, SC, 2 brothers, David Shaffer of Mobile, Alabama and Fred Shaffer of Ellenboro, NC, 2 sisters, Peggy Norwich of Oakland, Maryland and Shirley Carr of Hendrix, W.
