Mrs. McGowan was born August 19, 1907 in Cottageville, SC., the daughter of Robert Franklin Isgette and Margaret Ackerman Isgette. She was a retired telephone operator with Roper Hospital. She was a member of Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church.She is survived by a son: William O. McGowan, III of Wando, SC., a daughter: Carolyn M. Horton of Charlotte, N.C., 4 grandchildren, James Randall McInnis, Julie Anne McInnis, Courtney Kristine McGowan, Jennifer Christine Duke, 2 sisters: Mary I. Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida and Marie I. Pettersen of Charleston, SC., a nephew, Dr. Philip A. McGowan of Charleston, SC., and several other nieces and nephews.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church, 754 Rutledge Avenue, Charleston, SC 29403.
