He is survived by his wife, Elnora Brown; four children, Herbert Brown, Jr., Laverne Brown, Verletta Brown, and MAJ James Brown; two sisters, Vietta Bowman and Mary Kay Brown; three brothers, Samuel Brown, Robert Brown, and James Brown; two brothers-in-law, Charles Lloyd, and MAJ David Lloyd; one sister-in-law, Elsie Gordon, and six grandchildren.
