Ard , 93, of North Charleston, S.C. All services will be private. Born October 19, 1907, in Hartsville, S.C., Mr. Ard was the son of the late Lucius M. Ard and Dora A. Browder Ard. He was a retired self-employed roofer and was Baptist. Mr. Ard was a bantamweight prizefighter and fought under the name of Johnny Hart. Surviving Mr. Ard are a niece, Eleanor Joyce Connor of N. Charleston and several other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Auxiliary , Post #3142, 3555 Dorchester Road, N. Charleston, S.C. 29405.
