Born in Rabun County, he was a mechanic with Beacon Manufacturing and a member of Mission Land Gospel Church, Anderson. Surviving are sons, Willie Lee Ramey of Westminster and Robert Lamar Ramey of Liberty; brother, Horace Ramey of Florida; sister, Lassie Pelfrey of Seneca; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was the widower of Ludy Roach Ramey and the son of the late Arley and Dovie Lee Ramey. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Ramey; and three sisters, Mae Pelfrey, Ida Sanford and Irene Crowe. Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminster, by the Revs. Horace Strickland and John McKnight; burial will follow in the Oconee Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The family will be at their respective homes.
