ROOFING WORKER DIES AT JOB SITE IN LADSON A North Charleston roofer apparently died of a heart condition while working on a Ladson roof Tuesday, Dorchester County Coroner, Jeffrey A. Rogers said. Gene Cheshire, 52, of St. Ives Road in North Charleston had been hired to repair a roof on Madison Avenue in Ladson. "When the residents arrived home Tuesday afternoon, they found him lying on the roof, unresponsive," Rogers said. Fire and EMS units were called to the scene. Rescuers performed CPR and transported him to Trident Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival at 7:06 p.m., Rogers said. Because of the unusal circumstances, an autopsy was performed and it revealed Cheshire died of cardiomyopathy, or an enlarged heart Rogers said. *********************************************************************************************** NOTICE: Printing the files within by non-commerical individuals and libraries is encouraged, as long as all notices and submitter information is included.
