Born in Oconee County, son of the late Waymond and Emma King Cox, he was a Baptist, a veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW and Seneca Masonic Lodge No. 185 AFM, employed by the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Clemson. Surviving also are a son, Steven Cox of the home; a daughter Jackie Vassey of Greensboro, N. C.; a brother, R. V. Cox of Seneca; three sisters, Inez Rothell and Sue Owens of Seneca and Vera Suttles of Central; four grandchildren. Services were Tuesday at Brown's Funeral Home with burial in Oconee Memorial Park with Masonic rites.
