Born in Easley, son of the late James F. and Alice Barron Knox, he was the retired owner of Shell Oil Distributing Co. of Seneca, a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, Rotary International, Seneca Lodge No. 185 AFM, a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca, and a former Seneca city councilman. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Moore Knox; four daughters, Miss Jo Ann Knox, Mrs. Gwendolyn K. Pund, Mrs. Sandra Louise Mitchell and Mrs. Mary Agnes Shelton of Seneca; a brother, Charles Knox of N. Charleston; a sister, Mrs. Betty McCall of Easley; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday at Brown's Funeral Home with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
