NIX, Lula Crooks 
(1892-1973) Keowee Courier March 21, 1973, Funeral services for Mrs. 
Lula Crooks Nix, 82, of Rt. 4 Seneca were conducted at 3 p. m. Sunday 
at Return Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Nix 
widow of Ben Nix died Friday. She was the daughter of the late Tom and
Tarrie Saylors Crooks and a member of Return Baptist Church. Survivors 
include two sons Hughie and Howard Nix of Seneca three daughters, Mrs. 
Jeanette Cromer, Mrs. Polly Grant and Mrs. Mary Adams of Seneca, four 
brothers, Ben, Telham and A. C. Crooks of Seneca and J. D. Crooks of 
Greenville, four sisters, Miss Nettie Crooks, Mrs. Lillian Richardson 
and Mrs. Pauline Gary of Seneca and Mrs. Bertie Copeland, Greenville, 
six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Contributed by: Susan
