Abbott of Seneca died Saturday in Oconee Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Joseph Marcus and Martha Jane Broome Abbott. He was a native of Oconee County and a lifelong resident of Seneca. He was a partner in the Abbott and Field Real Estate Co., was on the Board of Directors, People's National Bank, veteran of WW II, was a member of the Seneca American Legion, a member of the Seneca Baptist Church. He is survived by two brothers, Forrest Abbott of Greenville and Willis Abbott of Court St., Lucie, Fla., four sisters, Mrs. W. J. Tucker and Mrs. R. J. Bryant, both of Atlanta, Mrs. Jewel Adams of Seneca, and Mrs. Sue Clayton of Greenville. Funeral services were conducted Monday at Brown's Funeral Home by the Rev. James T. Stokes. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jute Price, John and Henry Field, Scott Alexander, Ed Hines Lowery, Kenneth Richardson, Roy Adams and Ralph Crooks.
