Mrs. Cowan was a native of Oconee County, a daughter of the late Wade and Elena Duncan Brock. She was a member of Walhalla Presbyterian Church. Survivors: husband, Eugene Easley Cowan; one son, Hugh Cowan of Taylors; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Galloway of Walhalla and Mrs. Frances Long of Salem; one half-sister, Mrs. Alma Cobb of Seneca; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30pm, at Bethel Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Rudolph Chastain and C. L. Letson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The body is at the residence. The Seneca Mortuary is in charge. Source: The Anderson Independent .
