He was a lifelong resident of Pickens county, son of the late John W. and Emaline Morgan Holden. He was a former employee of Clemson University and a member of Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. S. H. (Jessie) Knox of Seneca and Mrs. W. W. (Nelle) Evans of Central; three sons, George Holden of Greenville, J. C. and Ralph Holden of Clemson; a brother, J. W. Holden of Seneca; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church by the Rev. James L. Ashley, the Rev. A. C. Harrison and the Rev. D. M. Campbell. Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers were grandsons.
