Vaughn Rites Conducted Waddy Thompson Vaughn, 81, died Sunday in Oconee Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He lived most of his life in the Walhalla area, moving to Westminster a year ago. He was the son of the late Joel and Ida Dawson Vaughn and was a retired farmer. Surviving are five sons, Henry, George, and Roy Vaughn of West Union, Joe Vaughn of Pelzer and Norman Vaughn of Walhalla; six daughters, Mrs. Annie Moore of Pelzer, Mrs. Beulah Lee of Mt. Rest, Mrs. Essie Poore of Walhalla and Mrs. Mattie Poore of West Union, Mrs. Eula Moore of Westminster and Mrs. Margie Duncan of West Union; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Willie Honea, Rev. U. G. Wilson, Rev. Houston Hawkins. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn Moore, Whitt Poore, Wayne Poore, Charles Crane, Jack Standridge and Harold Vaughn.
