Hurley (Ca 1891-1964) Keowee Courier August 19, 1964 Funeral services for J. Harley Grant, 73, who died Wednesday at his home in the Tamassee community were conducted Friday at Cherry Hill Church of God by Rev. Frank Rochester, Rev. Carl Edgar and Rev. Ernest Roach. Burial was in Cheohee cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary escort was composed of the Men's Bible Class of Cherry Hill Church of God. Mr. Grant was born in Macon county, N. C., a son of the late John and Matilda Martin Grant. He was a member of the Cherry Hill Church of God. Survivors: three sons, Albert Grant of Walhalla, Farris Grant of Salem, and Alvin Grant of Cashiers, N. C.; four daughters, Mrs. Pauline White, Mrs. Ruby Craine, and Mrs. Thelma Nix, all of Salem; and Mrs. Ruth Eades of Dacusville; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Cabe of Franklin, N. C.; 41 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Davenport Funeral Home was in charge.
