S. Abbott Rites Thursday Mrs. Mary Josephine Julian Abbott, 88, beloved resident of the Walhalla area, died at 3 a. m. Wednesday at her home on the Westminster highway. She was the wife of J. S. Abbott and had been ill for the past 15 months. Mrs. Abbott was born in Greenville countym a daughter of the late Jerry and Martha Traynum Julian. She spent the greater portion of her life in Oconee county, and was the oldest member of the Coneross Baptist church. Surviving beside her husband are two sons, E. E. Abbott and J. C. Abbott of Walhalla; one brother, A. W. Julian of Seneca; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p. m. Thursday from the home of a son; E. E. Abbott, on the Westminster highway. Officiating at the rites will be the Rev. C. L. Sheriff and Dr. Eugene Mandrell. Interment will be in Coneross church cemetery. Pall-bearers include Bob Abbott, Johnny Abbott, John Ward, Bert Cox, and John Towe. The body will be at the home of E. E. Abbott after 3 p. m. Wednesday. Davenport Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
