PATTERSON, Mattie Cole
Mrs. Mattie Cole Patterson, 83, resident of Westminster, died in 
Oconee Memorial Hospital Sunday. Mrs. Patterson had been in declining 
health for several years but had been in critical condithion since the 
death of her husband, Robert L Patterson, who died Oct 28. Mrs. 
Patterson was a lifelong resident of Oconee county and was a daughter 
of the late Nathaniel Pickens and Mary Abble Cole, pioneer citizens of 
Oconee county. She was a member of the Westminster Baptist church. She 
was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A niece, Mrs 
Myrtie Cole Elrod, had made her home with her during her last illness. 
Funeral services were condurted at Earle's Grove Baptist church by the 
Rev. W.S. Cromer, the Rev. Ernest Sorrells and the Rev. Jack 
Funderburk. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were 
Winfred Honea, Evoid Honea, M.C. Sheriff, James Cox, Horace Bryson and
