Thomas and a well known matron of the Shiloh community, died at the Oconee Memorial hospital Thursday following two years of declining health and serious illness of one week. Mrs. Thomas was a native of Oconee county, a daughter of the late Jesse and Vinie Owens Timms, both of well known families of this section of the state. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist church near Seneca. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eugene Moore, of the Shady Brook community near Seneca, and Mrs. David Moore, of Seneca; one son, Paul Thomas, of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Abbott of Seneca, and Mrs. John Reeves, of the Cross Roads community; three grand-daughters and one grandson. Funeral services were held from Shiloh Baptist church Friday. The Rev. Spencer Phillips and the Rev. R. E. Lumpkin conducted the rites. Burial followed in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers: Jesse Timms, Harold Timms, Ullen Timms, William Stevenson and the Rev. John Owens. Members of the Men's Bible Class and the Ladies Bible Class of Shiloh Baptist church formed the escort of honor, along with Martin Wilbanks, C. C. Moore, R. A. Cleveland, M. F. Taylor, and Dr. J. N. Webb.
