L. Albertson Passes At Salem, Joseph Lattie Albertson, 69, died at his home near Salem, Wednesday night at 10:30. He had been in declining health several years, seriously ill two weeks. Mr. Albertson was born in Oconee county, a son to the late William H. and Julia Moss Albertson. For 30 years he lived in Transylvania county, N. C., moving back to Salem some two years ago. He was a member of the Boones Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Deborah Patterson Albertson, he leaves one son, Cecil Albertson of Charloote, N. C., and one daughter, Mrs. Preston Whiteside of Hendersonville. Two sisters and five brothers also survive: Mrs. Lewis Talley of Salem, Mrs. Joe Vaughn of Abbeville, Aleck Albertson of Six Mile; Grace Albertson of Seneca, Clarence and Carnie Albertson, both of Clinton, and Henry Albertson of Salem. Funeral services were held at Boones Creek Baptist church Friday at 11 a. m. with the Rev. Ernest Breazeale officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. The following nephews served as pallbearers: John Odell, Dyar, Clyde and Jack Talley, Mack Albertson. Nieces were flower girls. Composing the honorary escort were Preston Holcombe, J. M. Smith, Paul Littleton, J. J. Allen, Derrel Littleton, Loran Crowe, S. M. and B. P. Chapman and George Smith. Davenport Funeral Home was in charge.
