Feb. 12- Mrs. Julia Mae Martin Gibson, 60, of the Cross Roads community died at the Oconee Memorial Hospital at 10:30 this morning, following a brief illness. She was born and reared in Oconee County, a daughter of the John Henry and Sallie Elrod Martin. She was a faithful member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Arthur K. Gibson, Sr.; six daughters, Mrs. C.C. Harper, Mrs. Wilson Richardson, Mrs. O. C. Graham, and Mrs. W. H. Dean, all of Seneca; Mrs. Howard Graham of Westminster, Hugh Gibson, of the U. S. Army, and Billy Gibson, with the armed forces in Korea; 24 grandchildren and her step-mother, Mrs. Florence Martin of Townville. She also leaves seven sisters, Mrs. Ernest Hart, Mrs. Jule Terry, Mrs. Kate Queen, Mrs. Annie B. Burns, Mrs. Sloan Martin, of all Seneca, and Mrs. Ethel Adams of Pendleton, and Mrs. Inez Arnold, of Westminster; four half-sisters, Mrs. Vergie Bice of Anderson County, Mrs. Mamie Frost and Mrs. Bertha Frost both of Ware Shoals, Mrs. Coa Skelton, of Townville; one brother, Carl Martin of Greenville; one half-brother, Frank Martin of Anderson. Funeral services will be held from the Cross Roads Baptist Church near Seneca, Tuesday at 4 p. m. The Rev. Norton Craig, her pastor, and the Rev. J. C. Parker, and the Rev.C. A. Richardson will conduct the rites. Burial will follow in the family plot in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and nieces as flower girls. The body will lie in state at the residence pending the hour of the services. The Abbott Funeral Home is in charge. (Mrs. Julia Gibson died on February 12, 1951). Contributed by Mary L.
