Funeral services for Luther McKinley Burleson, who died at station 21, Sullivan Island, will be
held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Sullivan's Island Baptist Church with the Rev. Walton
Coppedge officiating.  Burial will be in St. Paul's  Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.  Mr.
Burleson died Thursday at his residence.  Born November 23, 1896, at Bakersville, N.C., he was
a son of Joseph John Burleson and Hattie Jane Bidix Burleson, both of Mitchell County, N.C. He 
was a retired Master Sergeant in the U. S. Army and a veteran of World War I and II.  He was a
member of Sullivan's Island Baptist Church.  Surviving are two daughters, two sons, three
sisters, six brothers and four grandchildren.
