TITLE: Eliza Mauldin Abbott SOURCE: The Keowee Courier SUBMITTED BY: Susan Brock-Booker FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, Jun 2003 *********************************************************************** ABBOTT, Eliza Mauldin (1862-1947) Keowee Courier, Mrs. Eliza Mauldin Abbott, 85, died at 10:45 o'clock Wednesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alex Mauldin, near Seneca. She was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Sheriff Mauldin and was the wife of the late J. J. Abbott. Surviving are: seven children, W. W. and J. D. Abbott, Mrs. Alex Mauldin and Mrs. Henry Dyar, all of Seneca; J. L. Abbott of Inman, G. M. Abbott of Cullman, Ala., Mrs. E. C. Dietz, Madison, Fla.; one brother, J. S. Mauldin of Greenville; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Londsdale Baptist church Friday at 4 p. m., conducted by Rev. H. D. Walker, Rev. J. T. Hatcher and Rev. L. L. Graham, with interment in Mt. View cemetery in Seneca. Pallbearers were: John McCurry, G. S. Sorrell, L. L. Oxley, J. B. Cleveland, John Foster and Bunyan Landers. Flower girls: Doris, Rebecca and Juanita Whitt, Nandine McCurry, Mildred Crawford and Nita Walker.
