TITLE: Henry Milton Lee SOURCE: Keowee Courier SUBMITTED BY: Susan Brock-Booker FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, Jun 2003 *********************************************************************** LEE, Henry Milton (1888-1945) galoo Tribune March 8, 1945 Henry Milton Lee Died Last Friday, Died Friday, March 2, at about noon at his home on Ramsay's creek, four miles above Westminster, Mr. Henry Milton Lee, leading farmer and apple grower. Relatives and close friends of Mr. Lee knew he suffered from a heart attack for several years. For the past two or three months he had not been able to be away from home but very little. All of his 57 years was spent in and near the place of his birth. Henry Lee was a man who bore a good name. He was a man of exemplary character, honest, upright and so true everybody esteemed and admired him. Very quiet, peaceful and agreeable, his neighbors and friends deeply mourn his passing. His mother, Mary Etta Morgan Lee, died Aug. 3, 1915, and his father, William H. Lee, died Oct. 12, 1938. His father was steward of the County Farm many years ago. He married Miss Maybell Cox, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Cox, several years ago and she with the following children survive him: Mrs. Marion Blanchett, Willam H., Horace, Bruce, John, and Clyde Lee. Three of the sons first named are in the armed forces, two being overseas and the other still in the States, being close enough to come home on account of his father's death. Three children died when young. He leaves his only sister, Mrs. J. A. Jones, of the Nazareth vicinity. Mr. Lee was a member of the Methodist church and the funeral services were conducted in his late home Sunday afternoon by his pastor, Rev. H. A. Whitten, and the interment followed in Eastview cemetery about 5 o'clock. The pallbearers included nephews: Jack Cox, Albert Barnett, Jack Lee, Clarence Cox, Jack and Leemont Jones. The bereaved families have the sympathies of many friends.
