George A. L. Abbott (1858 to 1944) Keowee Courier Funeral Services 
Held for George Abbott, 86 Funeral services for the late George L. 
Abbott, 86, lifelong resident of Seneca who died Monday night at the 
home of his daughter, Mrs. W. H. Ellenburg following an illness of 
about two months was held from the Hopewell Baptist Church Sunday 
afternoon at 1 o'clock. The Rev. Preston Garrett conducted the rites, 
and burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are two daughters and
one son; Corp. A. C. Abbott, of San Pedro, Cal.; Mrs. S. L. McGarity, 
Jr. of Elberton, and Mrs. W. H. Ellenburg, of Seneca. He also leaves 
one brother, Joe M. Abbott of Seneca. Contributed by: Susan
