Abbott, aged 46 and a resident of Clemson College, for 29 years, died December 22. He had been connected with the Clemson College Athletic Association and was a merchant at Clemson. He was a son of the late Warren Abbott and Mrs. Callie Davis Abbott, former citizens of Oconee and was largely connected over the county. His cousin, Miss Kate Abbott and other relatives from Westminster attended the funeral at the Clemson College Baptist church and the interment in Old Stone Church Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Abbott, widow of the deceased suffered a double bereavement. There was only fifteen minutes difference in the time of death of her husband and the death of her father, Mr. Willis Grubbs, Fair Play citizen.
