Jenkins (1871-1935) Keowee Courier April 16, 1935, The body of Mrs. Alice Jenkins Herron was buried here in Eastview cemetery Monday afternoon, after appropriate funeral services conducted in the Methodist church by Rev. J. H. Manly. She died in Atlanta, Ga., where she had been living a number of years. She was the second daugher of the late N. H. Jenkins and was reared on Colonel's Fork Creek where the Kelley family now live. Her two brothers were W. H. and S. P. Jenkins, both of whom died here. She had one sister who married William Ballenger who moved to Texas, one sister who married Gus Couch and moved to Toccoa, Ga., one who married John Duncan and moved to Clayton, Ga., and there were other sisters. Mrs. Herron leaves two daughters, one of whom married Mr. J. H. Haley, formerly of Westminster, but now of Atlanta, Ga. The deceased had many relatives and friends in this section who regret to learn of her death.
