SKATES, Lucinda Albertson 
(1853-1932) Keowee Courier, Mrs. Lucinda Skates died at the home of 
her sister, Mrs. S. L. Crow, near Salem, on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 
13, at 1 o'clock. She was in her 79th year. In addition to her sister, 
she is survived by one brother, James L. Elbertson(sic) of this 
county. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at 
Boone's Creek Baptist Church, Rev. W. D. Holcombe officiating. 
Interment was made in the church cemetery. Contributed by: Susan
