Reid (9-10-1849 to 1-15-1929) Tugaloo Tribune January 22, 1929 Daniel Reed, 84, Dead. Mr. Daniel Reed died at the home of his son, Geroge, near the Old Stribling mill place last Tuesday, and his body was buried at the Pleasant Hill Baptist church the following day, funeral services being conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. H. Blackwell. Mr. Reed was one of the oldest persons in the community, having reached his 84th year. He had lived near Five Forks almost all his life. In past years he was owner of a country store near Five Forks for a number of years aside from his farming. Mrs. Reed preceeded him to the grave some years back. He leaves to mourn his death besides a host of friends and relatives, two sons, John, of Cross Roads No. 2, and George, of near Walhalla, and the following daughters: Mrs. T. C. Bibb, Mrs. Mary Watkins, Mrs. Lena Smith, Mrs. Lue Lyles, all of Oconee county. He was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church.
