L. Abbott will regret to learn of her death, which occurred at her home in the New Hope section last Saturday morning. Mrs. Abbott had been sick for some time, and her death was not unexpected. She was a devout member of the Baptist Church and will be greatly missed in the home and in church circles of her community. She was 53 years of age, and is survived by her husbband and the following children: One son, J. C., and two daughters, Misses Ruby and Pauline. She was a daughter of the late E. P. Marett, formerly of Walhalla. Among those from a distance who attended funeral services were her step-mother and step-sister, Mrs. E. P. Marett and Miss Vista Marett, of Central. Interment was made in the cemetery at New Hope Church Monday last, the services being conducted by Rev. A. P. Marett, assisted by Rev. W. H. Harbin.
