Tate Dies At South Union News was received by relatives here of the death yesterday in Oconee Co. of D.T. Tate, a native and for many years a resident of this county. Mr.Tate passed away at his home at 2 o'clock following an illness of about three months. He was 60 years old and until about 18 years ago made his home in Anderson Co. Mr.Tate was the son of the late Tilman and Cynthia (Long) Tate well known citizens of this Co. for many years. Besides his widow, Janie (Snipes) Tate of Anderson, he leaves two sons and four daughters as follows: George and Raymond both of Detroit, Mrs. R.I. Yeargin , Mrs. Ira Eskew both of Anderson, Mrs. Morgan McJunkin of Tococca, GA, and Mrs. Bill Randall of Lavonia, GA. One sister, Mrs. Jane Dove of Danielsville, GA. Funeral services will be held from the family resident at South Union this afternoon at 2'oclock with the Rev. F.S. Childress. Interment in South Union Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Messrs. C. Callaham, W.M. Gibson, Bill McJunkin, Edwin Harris, Otto Burris and Mark Harris. G.F. Tolly and Son, in charge.
