B. Pruitt on Goddard Avenue at an early hour Tuesday morning following an illness of some six weeks duration. Mr. Pruitt was 38 years old. He was born and reared in Oconee and had been making his home in Seneca for the past three years. He was held in high esteem by a wide circle of relatives and friends, and his passing is deeply deplored. In addition to his parents and his widow Mrs. Clara Pruitt, he is survived by two daughters, Misses Kathleen and Nellie Pruitt, and one son, Edward Pruitt, all of Greenville. Four brothers, W.V. of Anderson, B.C. of Laurens, R.C. of Lonsdale, and R.Y. of Oconee. Four sisters, Mrs.G.A.McKern of Westminster, Mrs. Rufus Gibson, Mrs.F.G. Fortune, and Miss Mildred Pruitt, all of Lonsdale. Funeral services were held from the Lonsdale Baptist Church this afternoon at 4o'clock, with Rev. W.M. Thompson with Rev. W.A. Harbin and Rev. J.O. Gillian conducting the services. Interment was in the Corinth Cemetery with Abbott Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers included: Paul Morgan, James Foster, Frank Harbin, L.M. McKee, R.L. Newton, and Cordie Sosebee. Flower girls were Rebecca Thompson, Ruth Taylor, Nina O'Shields, O'Dell Brewer, Ruth Latham, and Orena Reeves. Honorary escort was deacons of Lonsdale Baptist Church and included, J.W. Foster, J.W. McCurry, Winder Gary, Howard Wilson, Gerude Graham, Olen Swanet, Bill Todd, T.S. Crawford, W.W. Abbott and M.D. Pruitt.
