Having been reared by christian parents in the Presbyterian Church, he was accustomed, from his earliest youth and through life, to attend the house of God for worship, and being thus moulded in his character under such benign influence, he lead a most orderly life, was a valuable citozen, temperate in all things; a good husband and father, "providing all things honest in the sight of all men." Observing in at least one aspect, the wise and righteous Scripture rule. "Owing no man any thing; a kind and obliging neighbor, striving to live peacefully with all men," thus affording an example worthy of imitation, and displaying virtues to be admired and practiced.
