Dr. Miller was born in Stewardstown, Pa., on Feb. 25, 1933, to Clarence and Esther Miller, the third of five children. He grew up in Bethel. Phil was an outstanding football player for Laurel High School and was invited to play for Duke University after graduation. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and, after serving his country, decided to return to the University of Delaware, where he played for the Blue Hens and graduated in 1957. He graduated Temple Dental School in 1961 and returned to the Army a second time where he served his residency with distinction at the Army hospital base, William T. Beaumont General Hospital, El Paso, Texas. Returning to Delaware to start his dental practice in 1964, Dr. Miller joined with fellow Temple graduate Dr. Brian B. Loss to form the dental practice Loss and Miller PA. In 1985, Phil married, very happily, Donna Rae Wilson, and they had 17 wonderful years together. Dr. Miller continued his dental practice until his battle with melanoma forced his retirement in 2001. He is survived by many loving friends and his wife, Donna; two daughters, Devon Miller-Duggan and Amanda Miller; son-in-law Lawrence Duggan; stepson Paul Timmons; granddaughters Hannah and Phillipa Duggan; brother Linwood Miller; sisters Natalie Loughran and Peggy Spence; and his former wife, Muriel Faulkner. A service of remembrance and thanksgiving was held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Wilmington. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. --------------------------------------------------------------- Christopher "Todd" Horrocks * Christopher "Todd" Horrocks, 26, of Selbyville, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md. Mr. Horrocks was born in Blacksburg, Va., and raised in Waldorf, Md., the son of Robert Horrocks and the late Nadeen Iris Horrocks Sowell. He graduated in 1995 from La Plata High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1996 to 1997 as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He was employed as a technical services assistant for Sussex County Emergency Medical Services and was an EMT for Station 93 Ambulance in Georgetown. He was a student at Delaware Technical '&;' Community College, Georgetown, where he was training to be a paramedic. He was a member of the Millsboro Lions Club and the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company, Station 88. His charming personality and warmth touched the lives of many people. He is survived by his wife of six years, Kristi Stuart Horrocks; his 22-month-old daughter, Reagan Iris Horrocks; a brother, Mike Horrocks; his father, Robert Horrocks; his father-in-law, Robert Stuart; a brother- and sister-in-law, Ryan and Amber Stuart; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Horrocks; and his maternal grandparents, Dot and Roscoe Turman. Memorial services were held at the Bethany Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Ocean View, with burial private. Contributions are suggested to The Reagan Horrocks College Fund. DePrisco, 60, of Wilmington, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Christiana Hospital. Mr. DePrisco worked as a police officer for the Elsmere and Newport Police Departments. He worked many years at Delaware Trust in security and then as a manager in the surveillance and security at Delaware Park Slots. He was a member of St. Matthew's parish and the Men's Guild. He served as Eucharistic minister and sat on the parish council. He was also a member of the Army National Guard. He enjoyed football, fishing, cooking and especially making pizzas for family and friends. In the last several years, he battled many health issues and was an inspiration to many. He loved his family. His attending physician, Dr. Cynthia Heldt and an excellent team of doctors earned his heartfelt respect and gratitude. His immediate family and his sisters were his greatest supporters. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 33 years, Helen Kerrigan DePrisco; two daughters, Dana A. Andruzzi and Lori DePrisco, both of New Castle; a son-in-law, Joseph Andruzzi; a future son-in-law, Louis Berge; a grandson, Dylan James Andruzzi; seven sisters, Charlotte Corday of Glasgow, Grace Hendricks, Elsie Mills and Betty Kilpatrick, all of Lewes; Dorothy French of Magnolia, Nancy Gicker of Bear and Linda Lenox of Delaware City; 30 nieces and nephews; and 43 great-nieces and nephews. Services were held at St. Matthew's Church, Woodcrest, with burial in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. --------------------------------------------------------------- Louise F. Klotz * Louise F. Klotz, 87, of Ocean View, and formerly of Millsboro, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Mrs. Klotz had been a registered nurse before her retirement. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Dagsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert T. Klotz, who died in 1991. She is survived by her son, Robert Klotz-Christian of Ocean View; two daughters, Karen Clark of Georgetown and Susan Crain of Lewes; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
