Van Horn Sang in All Saints' choir Suzanne W. Van Horn, 60, of Rehoboth Beach, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. Van Horn worked in marketing in the insurance industry, starting with National Liberty Insurance Co. where she worked for 20 years before retiring in 1997. She moved to the Rehoboth area from Chester Springs, Pa. in December of 1998. Mrs. Van Horn was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, Rehoboth Beach, where she sang in the choir. Her life revolved around church and family and she was very dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting and loved the beach. Mrs. Van Horn is survived by her husband, David J. Van Horn, her father, William A. Widmer, Jr. of Somers Point, NJ, two sons, R. Michael Jacobs and his wife Jeannette, of Coatsville, Pa. and Christopher R. Jage of Medford, NJ, two stepdaughters, Robin Van Horn-Schwoyer of Philadelphia and Allison L. Dounoulis of Moline, Ill., and one brother, William A. Widmer III of Evanston, Ill. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Rachael, Emma, Kevin, Erika, Steven and Evangelos. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m., at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to All Saints' Episcopal Church, The Music '&;' Children's Fund, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Kane, 60, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in her home, surrounded by family. Born in Philadelphia, she graduated from Roxboro High School and then moved to Delaware. She retired from the Double S Company and later moved to the Rehoboth Beach area to be close to family. She is survived by three children, Deborah A. Toner of Rehoboth Beach, Robert J. Kane of Millsboro and Steve Kane of Los Angeles; five grandchildren, Sean, Shannon, Alicia, Sarah and Little Bobby; sisters, Barbara Clark of Vermont and Ethel Philhower of Stanton; and brothers, Howard West and Wayne West, both of Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 11:45 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28 in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, Dupont Pkwy. Carlson, of Milton, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, in Harrison House. He was 84. Mr. Carlson was born in Cambridge, Mass., the son of the late Charles E. and Alma (Hall) Carlson. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He volunteered as a mentor for the YWCA in Harrisburg, Pa., and Millersville University in Millersville, Pa. Mr. Carlson was a member of the Lewes Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tita Carlson; children, Del Dimmerling, of Royersford, Pa., Leslie Carlson, of West Chester, Pa., Linnea Weaver, of Weston, Mass., and Matthew Carlson, of Lancaster, Pa.; a stepson, Mark Davis, of Harrington; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Davis of Manteo, N.C.; two sisters, Alice Regnell, of Brockton, Mass., and Lillian Cook of Lexington, Mass.; a brother, Edward E. Carlson, of Catonsville, Md.; and seven grandchildren, Casey Morrow, Evan Dimmerling, Thomas Dimmerling, Maggie Davis, Jessica Davis, Olivia Davis and Josiah Davis. Alberts Retired bookkeeper Marjorie E. Alberts, 82, of Lewes, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Mrs. Alberts was born in Woburn, Mass., daughter of the late Everettt and Leona (Charron) Harrold. She graduated from the former Williamson (Mass.) High School in 1938. She worked at General Cable in North Pownal, Vermont, before moving to Laurence Harbor, N.J., in 1971. She was employed at Freehold Lumber Company as accounts receivable bookkeeper until her retirement in 1986. When her husband retired in 1987, they moved to Lewes. Mrs. Alberts was a former member of St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Leonard H. Alberts, in 2000. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Sally Ann Stemp, of Bennington, Vermont; and three cousins, Francis Chapman of Williamstown, Mass., Mary Elizabeth Fernandez of Tampa, Fla., and Frank Harrold of Pinehurst, Mass. Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, in the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel at Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice, in care of the George M.
