Mrs. Bourdouklis was born in Athens, Greece and was a homemaker and former member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Washington, D.C. She is survived by two daughters, Catherine B. Cassell of Lewes and Mary Nevros of Palm Coast, Fla; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Bourdouklis, in 1958; a sister, Helen Teawalt; and a son, Thomas Bourdouklis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, at Parsell Funeral Homes '&;' Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Hwy., Lewes, with Father Raymond Forester officiating. Friends may call there at 1 p.m. Burial will be held Monday, Feb. 24, in Washington National Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Rd., Suite 202, Dover DE 19904. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Grace Draper Millman retired cafeteria manager Grace Draper Millman, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2002, surrounding by her loving and caring family, at her home on Broadkill Road, Milton. Richard Millman, her husband of 66 years, died May 2002. The first daughter of the late Grover C. and Ella Brittingham Draper, she was also predeceased by two sisters, Carla Draper Robinson in Oct. 2000, and Esther Draper Morris in April 1999. Mrs. Millman was cafeteria manager for Milton High School, H.O. Brittingham Elementary School, Lewes High School, and retired from Cape Henlopen High School after 24 years with the Cape Henlopen School District. She was a member and past president of the Delaware School Food Service Association. Her famous sticky buns were always a treat for students and faculty, as were her chicken and dumplings for family and friends. For many years, she prepared meals for the Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club meetings and for special occasions at White's Chapel UM Church. Besides entertaining and collecting cookbooks, she enjoyed bowling and flower gardening, especially her roses, which she graciously shared with shut-ins and friends. Her yard was always a scenic beauty and inspired artists to paint it. Affectionately known as "Amazing Grace," Mrs. Millman was a dedicated member of White's Chapel and had served as Sunday school teacher, choir member and held positions on the administrative board. She has served as president of White's Chapel United Methodist Women, Hollymount Home Demonstration Club, Milton Senior Citizens and was eulogist for members. She was a member of Georgetown Chapter No. 9, Order of Eastern Star and Gideon Ladies Group. She is survived by a son, Richard Draper Millman and his wife Margaret of Milton; two daughters, Bessie V. Hickman of Millsboro and Phyllis M. Wapniarek and husband John P. of Newark; six grandchildren, Cheryl Ann Hickman of Selbyville; Richard D. Millman II and his wife Jamie of San Francisco, Ca.; Catherine W. Berchock and her husband Joseph, Joyce L. Wapniarek, John R. Wapniarek and Dominick Remedio, all of Wilmington; four great-grandchildren, Grayson W. Berchock, Justen, Kayla and Meagan Remedio; two sisters, Olivia "Candy" Hudson of Harbeson and Ruth Draper Tyndall of Millsboro. "Auntie Grace" was also special to her many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, with an Eastern Star service at 1 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, at White's Chapel UM Church, 15357 Coastal Hwy., Milton. Phillips, 72, of Millsboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Mr. Phillips was born in Gloucester City, N.J. and was a Gloucester City police officer for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Oak Orchard-Riverdale American Legion Post 28. He is survived by his wife, Elsa; two brothers, three sisters, six sons, a daughter, 15 grandchildren and a great-grandson. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Mary Mother of Peace Cath9olic Church, Route 24 near Oak orchard. Burial will be private. The family suggests contributions to the Long Neck Elementary School Mentoring Program. Simmons, 85, of Georgetown, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Mrs. Simmons was born in Millsboro, the daughter of the late Clarence and Minnie Hudson Moore. She was a manager of the S'&;'H Green Stamp Store for 14 years. She was a member of Grace U.M. Church in Georgetown, where she was involved with the Willing Strivers Sunday School Class where she was past president, and the Mary Rebekah Lodge No. 15, where she was past noble grand. She was preceded in death by here husband of 37 years, Cullen B. Simmons in 1984; and a sister, Margaret VanAuken. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Robert Uhle of Georgetown and Karen and Jack Wheeler Jr. of Selbyville; two grandchildren, Jill Epolito and husband harry, and Lisa Uhle Niblett. "Crabber Bill" Schreffler, 52, of North East, Md., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in Charlestown, Md. Mr. Schreffler was a resident of Cecil County, Md. for 31 years and a custodian for two years at P.F.G., Elkton, Md., and a die maker for 28 years with Westvaco. He is survived by his mother, Verena V. Ganderton Schreffler of Newark; his wife of 32 years, Deborah Schreffler; children Lisa Cramer and her husband Philip of North East, Md., Rachel Sheldon and her husband Edward of Elkton, and William "Brad" Schreffler of North East; a sister, Terryl Lofland of Rehoboth Beach; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. McGuire Strobl retired Hess employee Helen N. McGuire Strobl of Lewes died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Village of Green Valley Assisted Living. Mrs. Strobl was formerly a resident of Bethlehem, Pa. for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph "Mac" McGuire in 1970, and her second husband, William Strobl, in 1995; a son, John J. McGuire in 1963; a granddaughter, Liza M. Campanella, in 1980; and a brother, Joseph Nowak in 1978. Mrs. Strobl attended schools in Scranton, Pa. and worked at Hess and Western Electric in Allentown, Pa. She is survived by a daughter, Helen Campanella Czar of Lewes; grandchildren Michael J. Campanella of Bethlehem, Dennis McGuire of Ephrata, Pa., David McGuire of Allentown and Jacqueline Albertson of Allentown; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Madelyn Camera of Bethlehem. Horn, 100, of Lewes, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lewes. Mrs. Horn was born in Fairmont W.Va., the daughter of the late W.L. and Sophia Smith Pitzer. She was a homemaker and worked at various jobs throughout her life, including restaurants, a piano teacher and as a housekeeper for several prominent families, including the position of governess for U.S. Sen. J. Howard Edmondson and his daugher Ann Bland. She was an avid gardener and loved plants and flowers. Her handiwork and crafts were exceptional along with being beautiful. Her scrapbooks and photo albums also leave her legacy. She was predeceased by her husband, Oliver, and a brother, Ernest H. Pitzer. She is survived by a sister, Lillian H. Sumner; a niece, Patricia Davis; a great nephew, John Matthew Sharp, all of Wilmington; a friend, Toni Oddo of Lewes, and a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews.
