He was 48. Mr. Adams was born Dec. 11, 1954, son of Alice Marie Adams of Denton, Md., and the late Clayton Adams. He was educated in the Caroline County, Md., public school system. He was employed at Nanticoke Homes, Greenwood. Mr. Adams attended Lighthouse Church of Milford and Bethel United Methodist Church of Federalsburg. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, April Adams of Dover; a son, William Oscar Adams of Federalsburg; two girls that he raised, Terri Riggleman of Laurel and Lori Covey of Delmar, Md.; a stepdaughter, Satika Heyliger of Dover; a granddaughter, India Adams; a step-granddaughter, Chesla; two sisters, Linda Hooper of Lanham, Md., and Patricia A. Adams of Denton; his mother-in law, Gloria Johnson, and father-in-law, J.C. Johnson; a brother-in- law, Russell Johnson; two aunts, Mattie Austin and Madeline Christopher; three nieces, Jacquela Horsey of Federalsburg, Shi Adams of Denton and Okesha Rodrigues of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Tamara Penn; a nephew, Melvin L. Frank Celio, 74 DOVER - Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Frank Celio of Dover died Monday, May 19, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 74. Mr. Celio was born in New Haven, Conn., son of the late Dominic and Trofimena Celia. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 until 1970, at which time he retired, at the rank of master sergeant, as a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. While stationed at Dover Air Force Base, he and his family had moved to Dover in 1958. Mr. Celio, in the mid-1970s, had served as a correctional officer with the state of Delaware, retiring in 1982. After his total retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spent a good bit of time fishing. Mr. Celio was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover, and was a longtime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nicholina, in 1984; and a son, Frank Celio, in 1993. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Georgules of Dover; two sons and a daughter-in-law, the Rev. Victor F.A. He was 53. Mr. Gibble was born Feb. 28, 1950, in Lancaster, Pa. He worked for many years in fast-food management until declining health left him unable to do so. He enjoyed camping, old-time gospel music and watching the grandchildren play ball. As a youth, he was very athletic and was a wrestler in his high school. Mr. Gibble was a member of Kent Christian Center in Dover. He was a children's Sunday school teacher, and he had a special love for his class. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Durella Lavy Gibble; his father, Harry G. Gibble of Lancaster; his mother, Mary Lively of Rising Sun, Md.; two stepchildren, Nathan Jones of Sterling, Va., and Stefanie Jones of Greenwood; three step-grandchildren, Dustin Jones and Kasey Jones of Greenwood and Megan Jones of Milford; a brother, Dan Gibble of Mount Morris, Ill.; two sisters, Darlene Brack of Rising Sun and Judy Rosenberry of Mercersburg, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. She was 98. Mrs. Joseph was born in Waverly, Va., daughter of the late John and Minnie Carpenter Bryant. She started her teaching career in one-room schools in the 1920s. She served a total of 27 years in Delaware schools, most of which was spent at Smyrna Elementary School. She retired in 1972. Mrs. Joseph often said that she was the luckiest mom, grandmom and great- grandmom that ever lived. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ebe L. Joseph Sr.; a sister, Marian B. Doughten; and a brother, John Wayne Bryant. She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ebe L. Joseph Jr. and Mary Lou Joseph of Smyrna and John Wayne and Diane Joseph of Murphy, N.C.; six grandchildren and the respective spouses of four, Karen J. and John Burke, Kelley J. and Robert Willoughby, Kathi J. and Ray Moxley, Richard W. Lord, 81 RIDGELY, Md. - Emma M. Lord of Ridgely died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in her home. She was 81. Mrs. Lord was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Greensboro, daughter of the late Chester Arthur and Florence Gertrude (Warren) Hutson. She was a lifetime resident of this area. She graduated from Greensboro High School, class of 1938, and Wilmington General Hospital, class of 1943. She was a registered nurse and worked for Memorial Hospital of Easton, Caroline Nursing Home, Denton, and House of the Pines in Easton, retiring in 1993. Mrs. Lord was a member of VFW Greensboro Post 7937 Ladies Auxiliary and Harrington Moose Lodge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weaver Kenneth Lord, on Jan. 23, 2002. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was 60. Mrs. Orr was born Feb. 5, 1943, to the late Harry Clark and Mary Elizabeth Hallesy Clark. She moved from Massachusetts to Delaware in 1986. She began working as a waitress for the Landing Club, Dover Air Force Base, in 1986, and retired in Febuary 2003. Mrs. Orr was very popular with many groups at the club, who would specifically ask for her. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Richard Orr; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matthew and Frankie Jones and Mark Jones, all of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kim and Gary Odoardi of Sterling, Mass., Kirsten and James Sukach of Newport News, Va., and Katy Orr of Bowers Beach; and a granddaughter, Lia Odoardi. Remembrances can be posted at newszap.com. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Julian Thomas Robinson, 82 CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Julian Thomas Robinson of Tolchester, Chestertown, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore. He was 82. Mr. Robinson was born July 19, 1920, in Still Pond, son of the late Ernest and Sarah Newcomb Robinson. He was a 1938 graduate of Chestertown High School and, in 1943, married Virginia Ethel Kuhn. In August 1944, Mr. Robinson enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater, and was honorably discharged in April 1946. Returning to Maryland, he took a job as a Baltimore city police officer in 1948 and worked until retirement. Upon his retirement, Mr. Robinson and his wife moved to Tolchester, near Chestertown. On Oct. 31, 1999, his wife of 56 years preceded him in death. He enjoyed amateur-radio operation. Mr. Robinson was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was active in the Tolchester Community Association. In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Constantino, in 1998. He is survived by a son, Robert Robinson of Baltimore; a brother, Ernest Robinson of Baltimore; a sister, Betty Kerr of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Michael Constantino and Angela Constantino, both of Baltimore, and Donna Boone of Rising Sun; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Boone, Jessica Boone and Jonathon Boone. She was 83. Mrs. Tilghman was born in Feb. 21, 1920, in Pinetown, Md., the middle of three daughters of the late Lewis and Gertrude Johnson. She was a proud alumna of Lockerman School and Delaware State College (now University). She taught in the public schools in Delaware, such as the Blackwater School and Middleford School, and in Maryland at Hurlock Elementary and North Dorchester schools. After retirement, Mrs. Tilghman substitute-taught, continued to travel and remained involved in civic organizations, including service to her church. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Tilghman; a sister, Marian I. Seymore Johnson of Easton, Pa.; a son and daughter; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
