Dellinger Sr., 82 MILFORD - William P. Dellinger Sr. of Milford died, after a long illness, Friday, May 16, 2003, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 82. Mr. Dellinger was born in Catawba, N.C., son of the late Daniel and Mamie Goodson Dellinger. He had owned and operated Wollters Dry Cleaning in Milford for 38 years, retiring in 1984. At one time, he had enjoyed playing bridge and bowling. Mr. Dellinger was a 32nd-degree Mason and member of the Temple Lodge 9, and also was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Milford. He was a former member of the Milford Kiwanis Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William P. Dellinger Jr. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia B. Dellinger; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen B. and Nancy Dellinger of Harrington and Michael W. and Diane Dellinger of Dover; another daughter-in-law, Judy Witman of Milford; a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Ronald Keller of Lake Butler, Fla.; six grandchildren, Robyn Johnson of Milford, Beth Zaiser of Sellersville, Pa., Brian Dellinger of Windsor, Vt., Eric Dellinger of Newark and Jennifer Wilder and David Keller, both of Lake Butler; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call one hour earlier. Man" Fulkerson Jr. of Rising Sun, near Camden, died of natural causes Wednesday, May 14, 2003, in his home. He was 73. Mr. Fulkerson was born in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Richard S. and Catherine McGowan Fulkerson. He was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his retirement from military duty, he served as the Delmarva Peninsula sales representative for B.G. Products Inc., where he was fondly known as "The B.G. Man." Mr. Fulkerson retired from B.G. Products in 1995 and spent many days fishing and visiting flea markets. He had a passion for bicycling and was an instrumental force in the implementation of bike paths in the local area and throughout southern Delaware. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he had a sense of humor which will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Kueny Fulkerson of Rising Sun; three sons, the companion of one and the fiancees of two, respectively, Stephen S. Fulkerson and Bobbie Hobbs and Joseph Fulkerson and Jill Offidani, all of Dover, and Michael F. Fulkerson and Vanessa Glanden, both of Camden; two daughters and the companion of one, Patricia Anderson and Tim Cano, both of Rehoboth Beach, and Salli Fulkerson of Dover; two grandsons, Donovan Anderson and Jonathan Anderson, both of Dover; four brothers, Paul of Dyersburg, Tenn., Robert of Wisconsin, Hubert of Indiana and Herbert of West Virginia; a sister, Dixie Lee Fletcher of Carterville, Ill.; and his special niece, Sandra Phillips, formerly of Dover. She was 58. Mrs. Glaser was born June 17, 1944, in Sykesville, Md., daughter of Hillis A. Hawkins of Westminster and the late Jack H. Hawkins, who died in 1997. She had been employed for several years with the state of Maryland and also sold real estate. Mrs. Glaser was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy H. Staub. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 24 years, Steven L. Glaser; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne D. and Melissa Harris of Sulphur Springs, Texas; two grandchildren, John Harris and Hannah Harris; five sisters, Jewel Hawkins, Susie Garver and Linda Lantz, all of Westminster, Wanda Derr of Reisterstown and Marcella Hansen of Selbyville, Del.; two brothers, Joel Hawkins and Earl Hawkins, both of Westminster; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Remembrances can be posted at newszap.com. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Robert Edward Knarr Sr., 70 DOVER - Robert Edward Knarr Sr. of Dover died Friday, May 16, 2003 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 70. Mr. Knarr was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Treverton, Pa., son of the late J. Robert and Dorothy (Delbaugh) Knarr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Knarr moved to Delaware and began a 22-year career with the Caesar Rodney School District. He served as principal for Welch Elementary and W.B. Simpson Elementary. He retired from the district in 1991. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed family activities, especially traveling and vacationing with his family and grandchildren. Recently, he and his wife had the joy of celebrating 50 years of marriage with family and friends. His hobbies included golfing, woodworking and collecting nature's treasures. Mr. Knarr was a member of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Camden, where he was active in the United Methodist Men and the church choir. He was a member of the Maple Dale Country Club, Dover. He also was a past member and president of the Camden-Wyoming Lions Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce L. Knarr, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Knarr Jr. and Karen Knarr of Chickamauga, Ga.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kristine and Curt Dotson of Dover and Karen and Michael Greenlee of Frederica; two sisters, Doris Spink of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Lulamae Lotz of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Dotson of Dover and Robert William Jackson Knarr and Katheryn Knarr, both of Georgia. Remembrances can be posted at newszap.com. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Michael Joseph 'Mike' Loftus, 78 FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Michael Joseph "Mike" Loftus of Federalsburg died Thursday, May 15, 2003, in his home. He was 78. Mr. Loftus was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Dallas, son of the late Frank A. Loftus and Winfield McCamey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the corps of engineers and was honorably discharged in November 1944. After graduating in Dallas, Mr. Loftus attended college at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and earned a degree in physics. Throughout his career, he worked as a purchasing agent for Brunswick Corp., and locally with Maryland Plastics Inc. and Tri-Gas '&;' Oil Co. Inc. He retired as a grant administrator with the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, in 1990 after 11 years. He was an avid musician, playing clarinet and his bass fiddle with such organizations as the Coral Mummers String Band, the Salaam Shriners' String Band of Livingston, N.J., and Avalon String Band in Philadelphia. Locally, he played in the Salisbury Community Players Orchestra, the Dover Symphony Orchestra and his own dance band, "Old Gold." Mr. Loftus was a member of Salaam Shriners and a choir member with Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Loftus. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dee Loftus; four children, Michael A. Loftus of St. Paul, Minn., Mani A. Guesfeird and Kelly D. Loftus, both of Federalsburg, and Tony E. Loftus of Little Rock, Ark; six grand-children, Whitney Loftus, Tyler Loftus, Tabatha Guesfeird, Zachary Guesfeird, Joseph Bayliss and Abigail Loftus; and a sister, Patricia McCamey. She was 76. Mrs. Lowe was born in Ellendale, daughter of the late Harry Oscar and Lina Gertrude Pusey Marker. She was a bus driver for the State of Delaware for 25 years, retiring in 1980. A lifelong resident of Sussex County, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Playing bingo was one of her favorite hobbies. Mrs. Lowe was a member of McColley's United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Althea Pepper and Beatrice Webb; and two brothers, Oscar Marker and Raymond Marker. She is survived by her husband, John H. Lowe; two sons, Gary Morris of Lincoln and Ken Morris of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters, Debbie Smith of Harbeson, Brenda Grulke of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Pam Pratt of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister; Alberta Rust of Redden; and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Maxwell of Wilmington died suddenly Friday, May 16, 2003, in Mendenhall, Pa., surrounded by friends and family. He was 65. Mr. Maxwell was a 1958 graduate of Salesianum School, and attended the University of Delaware. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Essex. He worked for Woolworth's for five years. Previously, he was employed by Schmidt's Bakery for 15 years and Bancroft Mills for eight years. Mr. Maxwell was a member of the Resurrection Parish, where he served as an usher. His other memberships included the Moose Lodge of New Castle and the Knights of Columbus, St. Michael's Council. He is survived, and will be dearly missed, by his wife of 34 years, Anne Marie (Ryan) Maxwell; three daughters and a son-in-law, Bernardette Maxwell of Rehoboth Beach, Jennifer Maxwell of Atglen, Pa., and Melissa (Maxwell) Parks and Larry Parks of Pennsville, N.J.; a sister, Sandy Ghione of Elsmere; two nieces and their husbands, Linda and Doug Frey and Lisa and Michael Buchanan; and a nephew, Frank Ghione.
