Baker, 80 DOVER - Louis W. Baker of Dover died Saturday, March 8, 2003, in Delaware Home and Hospital, Smyrna. He was 80. Mr. Baker was born July 12, 1922, in Allentown, Pa., son of the late George and Cecelia (Burns) Baker. He graduated from Allentown High School in 1940. He attended the University of Michigan and Delaware State University. Mr. Baker enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. He was a pilot, flying B-17s in the 15th Air Force in World War II with more than 50 missions. He was the pilot for Commanding Gen. Josepth T. McNarney, head of U.S. forces in Europe in 1946. He served in the Berlin airlift in 1948. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired in 1965 from the Air Force Air Transport Service. He was the owner/operator of Baker Air Service in Dover for more than 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hattie M. Baker of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, D. Michael Sr. and Vickie Baker of New Castle; a daughter, Patty Baker of Dover; three brothers, Robert Baker of San Diego and Eddie Baker and Leo Ressler, both of Allentown, Pa.; a granddaughter and her husband, Wendy and Maj. David Stamilio, M.D. of Texas; two grandsons, Mike Baker of Arizona and Sean Baker of Delaware; and a great-granddaughter, Angela Marie Stamilio of Texas. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Remembrance services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Dover. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. He was 83. Mr. Cain was born April 30, 1919, in Harrington, son of the late Elmer S. and Pearl B. (Masten) Cain; a brother, Noah Cain; and a sister, Bernice Parker. Mr. Cain was a graduate of Harrington High School, Class of 1937. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed horse racing and hunting. He was a diotherm operator for the E.I. DuPont Co. in Seaford for 371/2 years before retiring in 1977. Mr. Cain was a member of the Delaware Standardbred Association, the Harrington Senior Center and the Harrington High School Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen; a brother and a sister-in- law, C. Delbert and Evelyn Cain of Harrington; a sister-in-law, Mildred Cain of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews. She was 69. Mrs. Evans was born Jan. 1, 1934 in Greenwood, daughter of the late Dudley and Alphonzo Evans. She was a teacher at Howard Ennis School, Georgetown. Mrs. Evans was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Dubbin Hill Bridgeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers. She is survived by five sons, Garry Evans of Phoenix, Ariz., Lance Fletcher of Seaford, Lenard Fletcher of Bridgeville, Rydell Fletcher of Rockville, Md. and Mark Fletcher of Greensboro, N.C.; a daughter, Nikita Powell of Seaford; a brother and sister-in-law, James Sr. and Jamesie Evans of Bridgeville; three sisters, Fretheid Evans, Bessie Holland and Martha Knox, all of Bridgeville; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was 45. Mrs. Zimmermann was formerly employed as a dental technician with Dr. DiSabatino, she was also a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, crabbing the outdoors. Mrs. Zimmermann was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her long time boyfriend with whom she lived, James "Tim" Meeks. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Faries Funeral Home, 1250 S. Governors Ave., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
