Ashley, 95 ROCK HALL, Md. - Edith C. Ashley of Rock Hall died Saturday, June 20, 2003, in the Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. She was 95. Mrs. Ashley was born July 2, 1907, in Rock Hall, daughter of the late Marcellus and Maggie "Grulkey" Coleman. She worked most of her life as a seamstress for the Rock Hall Shirt Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Ashley, and a son, Russell Ashley Sr. She is survived by two grandsons, Russell Ashley Jr. of Laurel, Md. and Glen Ashley of Chestertown. Services will be noon Monday in the Wesley Chapel Church, Rock Hall, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661. Boyce of Laurel died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in his home. He was 69. Mr. Boyce was in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He worked for Milford Grain and Seaford Feed Co. and then after his retirement worked for Domino's Pizza. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Edith Boyce; his mother and stepfather, Estella and James Flood of Laurel; a son, Edward W. Boyce of Columbia, Pa.; a daughter, Anita Boyce of Bridgeville; two stepsons, William T. Wroten of Dover and Randy L. Wroten of Bridgeville; two brothers, Jacob Boyce of Seaford and Gary Flood of Laurel; 13 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call one hour earlier. Eveland, 88 DENTON, Md. - Bernice H. Eveland of Denton died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 88. Mrs. Eveland was born in Dugspur, Va., daughter of the late Arthur Wilson Huff and Amanda Goad Huff. She graduated from Sparks High School and was a 1934 graduate of the Towson Normal School. Mrs. Eveland taught high school in Sparrows Point for seven years. She married Thomas C. Eveland of Denton on Feb. 28, 1941 and in 1942 they moved to Caroline County. In the 1950s, she was the assistant librarian for the Caroline County Library. Mrs. Eveland was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Denton, where she was active in the Alter Guild. She was also a member of the Caroline Country Club, where she was a member of the Ladies Golf Association. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hankins, and two brothers, Lyman and Parley Huff. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret E. and Richard Gordon; and a sister, Mae Thomas of Cockeysville. Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, in the Christ Episcopal Church, Gay Street, Denton. Burial will be private. West of Millsboro died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 81. Mr. West was born in Bridgeville, son of the late John and Lutitia Messick West. He was a farmer and poultry man for Townsend's Inc. in Millsboro, retiring in 1984. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Joseph West; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lutitia West of Millsboro and Sandra and James Beatty of Laurel; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Theresa West of Georgetown; two brothers, Elmer West of Greenwood and Joseph West of Seaford; two sisters, Evelyn Lankford of Milton and Ruth Donovan of New Castle and two grandchildren, Cody and Shelby West.
