He was 41. Mr. Bass was born in Milford, son of Mackey Bass of Milton and the late Grace Timmons Bass. He was a commercial fisherman. Mr. Bass also was a gun collector and fixed guns. In addition to his father, he is survived by a son, Charles W. Bass of Milford; a nephew, Nathan Bass; two sisters, Frances Slonacher and Pennie Bass, both of Milford; and three brothers, Martin Bass of Milford, Sam Bass of Milton and Larry Bass of Oak Orchard. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Margaret Elaine 'Margie' Crouse, 23 HARTLY - Margaret Elaine "Margie" Crouse of Hartly died from injuries sustained in a car accident Thursday, June 19, 2003. She was 23. Ms. Crouse was born Aug. 9, 1979 in Dover, daughter of William and Patricia Lou Baker Crouse. She graduated from the Caesar Rodney School in 1998 and Dover Beauty Academy in 2002. She was employed as a stylist with Master Cuts Hair Salon in the Dover Mall. She is survived by her son, Chance Mathew Crouse, age 3; her parents, Al and Patty Crouse of Hartly; her sister and brother-in-law, Angie and John King of Dover; and extended family and many close friends. Funeral services will be noon Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Caroline L. Hill, 78 DOVER - Caroline L. Hill of Dover died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in her home. She was 78. Mrs. Hill was born Nov. 12, 1924 in Macon, Ill., daughter of the late Lena and Martin Hill. Upon her parents' death she was raised by Ruth Pauley. She eventually became active in playing the piano at the Modern Maturity Center. She played for and was also a member of the Glee Club. She also volunteered her time and talents entertaining the people in Daybreak, an adult day care, and also at several area nursing homes. The people at the Modern Maturity Center became her life and she loved each and every one of them very much. She also played for the Hospice Festival of Lights and other events in the area. She loved her music and playing the piano for people and entertaining them. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She touched many people in many ways. She was always willing to help anyone who needed her. She will truly be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hill. She is survived by three children, Randall Hill of Stockbridge, Ga., Kathy Schwartz of Hot Springs, Ark. and Gloria Turner of Wichita Falls, Texas; eight grandchildren; a dear friend of 40 years, Dorothy Brouillette of Brick, N.J.; and a friend and caregiver, Amy McZaugh of Dover. Kashner of Milton, formerly of Sharon Hill and Delaware County, Pa., died Friday, June 20, 2003. He was 77. Mr. Kashner was born Jan. 11, 1926 in Bloomsburg, Pa., son of William Harold Kashner and Effie Marie Kashner. He was a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Class of 1943 and John Harris High School, Harrisburg, Pa. Mr. Keener was a U.S. Navy veteran and was formerly employed by Chevron/ Texaco oil refinery. He was a deacon for 15 years at the Tully Memorial Presbyterian Church, Sharon Hill. Mr. Kashner was a member of American Legion Post 28, Millsboro. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Jane (Ziegler) Kashner; two daughters, Candis Kashner of Wyndmoor, Pa. and Kimberly Kashner of Milton; three sons, Craig Kashner of Edgemont, Pa., Bill Kashner of New Castle, and Keith Kashner of Middletown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Davis of Mechanicsburg, Pa. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Millsboro. He was 65. Mr. Wilkerson was born in Georgetown, son of the late Roy E. and Lillie Mae Hickman Wilkerson. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years, most recently working for David G. Horsey Inc., Laurel, from which he retired in 1999. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Wilkerson. He is survived by three sons, Ronald L. Wilkerson Jr. and Richard Lee Wilkerson, both of Seaford, and Brian K. Wilkerson of Gumboro; three daughters, Michelle L. Harris and Nicole M. Biester, both of Delmar, Md., and Kandy R. Dinterman of Marion Station, Md.; a brother, Dallas E. Wilkerson of Millsboro; a sister, Catherine Conaway of Milford; 12 grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Roland Tice will officiate.
